Let me introduce my self to you. My name is Berlian Apriliana. This is my blog for teacher candidate. Here, we will talk about how to use technology in education for our students. As we know that English is bored subject for our students. Some of them think that English is not fun and difficult to understand. It is because English is foreign language in our country. We never introduce English with fun and creative technique, so the students give negative judgment in this subject. Well, I will go to the point of the purpose of my blog. Nowadays, our students have recognize technology, all of them have gadget. So, for make English seem more fun we as teacher candidate have creative way in teaching them. Why we should use technology in education?

When we teach many students in the class, we will know that many character and different learning style occurs. The student easy understood the material using their sight is visual student. The students is easy receive the material using hearing is auditory student. The last is the student always receive material using body movement is kinesthetic students. So, how we make all of students with different learning style can understand the material? We can use Technology. Why ? Because teaching using technology can solve all of the learning style. Students is not only receive the material auditory but also visual and maybe can using movement.

CALL and its Development History

Today, I will talk about what is CALL? CALL is Computer assisted language learning. Computer Assisted Language Learning (CALL) is the general term for the range of processes and activities that employ computers in the teaching and learning of a new language. 

 In the history of CALL we can see the confluence of the latest technology as well as the most widely accepted language theories of the day. CALL tools can be used by teachers as technology partners in running their classrooms from the initial intro of language concepts to the giving of electronic homework. Students are using computers in practically every other aspect of their lives anyway, So why not throw learning a new language to the mix?

 

CALL, in addition to integrating technology in the learning process, also helps solve classic teacher problems like capturing student attention, maintaining student interest, holding focus and increasing engagement. Teachers can benefit from the great variety of interactive activities, games, songs and stories that make language learning not only painless but also fun. One of the tools that teacher can uses in the learning is using timeline.  In the timeline, teacher can give explanation about the material there.  OK, teacher candidate, you can try it! byeeee…

Online Resources for EFL teachers

Today, we will talk about online resources for EFL teachers. The tool that often can use in the learning process related technology is Mind Mapping. By using mind mapping, teacher can makes good presentation in the class. For example, teacher can make mind mapping about types reading. There are many branches for types of reading.

Probably students can read this mind mapping online, when teacher share to students. It is good way for teaching, is it right? 

This tool is not only teacher but also can uses for students.
